The Galaxy A51 From Samsung Tested

With the middle range devices getting even more competitive than ever, we thought it is a good idea to look at a smartphone that will likely sell in massive numbers around the world, Samsung’s Galaxy A51. It has a conservative but classic design, the Galaxy A51 comes with quadruple rear camera setup, an AMOLED display and a centrally located punch-hole selfie camera, and a glass-tastick rear back panel.
The Samsung A51 has been selling in Europe since February while the A51 launched in the US through April and sells for £330/$400.

Samsung Galaxy A51 Design

With its glass-ticky back, the Galaxy A51 does not feel or look like it's a mid-range phone, the plastic does seem forgiving in your grasp in that there are no sharp edges you sometimes see on phones with rear panels built out of glass.
This design characteristic on the rear panel is a nice touch as well as it provides some character to the phone. And where sometimes the branding on budget handsets has been a touch over the top, Samsung's brand is discretely placed.
You'll notice a camera setup that, is made more noticeable due to what seems to be a metal circle around it that attracts your attention.
Audiophiles are sure to be pleased that there is an audio jack on the lower edge of the phone, sitting alongside the Type-C port as well as the speaker chamber.
The top of the smartphone there is a microphone while the right-hand edge there is a power switch and loudness rocker with a SIM card tray place on the other side of the handset.
This is neat and inoffensive looking unit that fits nicely into a normal-sized jeans pocket with no drama.

Samsung Galaxy A51 Speed And Performance

The Super AMOLED display is as good as we expect from this company}, the colors are vibrant and bright with the handset's viewing angles are superb. There is not a lot to whinge about although some folks always find something, other than the device is a bit dim (but very readable) in sunlight and circumstances are not ideal for viewing content on, even when the brightness fully up.
Here is where reviewing flagship smartphones like OPPO’s Find X2 Pro and the OnePlus 8 is hurtful in achieving a sense of a middle range device such as Sasmung's Galaxy A51.
The device's 9611 CPU will not match the Snapdragon 865 chip and going from the Exynos 9611 to Snapdragon's 865 is a shock to the system then you understand that the A51 is a middle of the range handset and these circumstances should be made.
Make no mistake, the A51 can be laggy upon occasion and I was sometimes left wondering whether the A51 had recognised my touch or not when trying to open an app or use the phone.
This is just a level of lag that I have not experienced for a lot of time, even with cheaper phones like the Honor 10 Lite that can be had for only £140.
And as for the phone's in-display fingerprint scanner, suffice to say that Samsung should have put it in the rear panel as we had a success roughly 50% when attempting to unlock the A51 then ending up typing the pin code.
